Mists of Pandaria

Written by Cupcakes
wi-mopcharcreation The discovery of the continent of Pandaria is made after an intense naval battle between the Alliance and the Horde. The magic of The Sundering had previously hidden the continent until then. Pandaria is located on the exact opposite side of the planet from Northrend. Pandarens begin in the Jade Forest which will double as the entry point of the Alliance and Horde. The Hozu and Jinyu races will be introduced as well as the Sha (the manifestation of negative energy on Pandaria) enemy found in the Temple of the Jade Serpent which promises to be great for raiding. After choosing their faction Pandaren players begin their quest on the Wandering Isle which is actually a roaming giant turtle.

The history World of Warcraft expansions is great and extensive, none more so than the Mists of Pandaria expansion being released soon. The expansion offers WoW players a new gaming experience that will affect both the Horde and Alliance. Among the many features is the inclusion of a brand new playable race called the Pandarens. With this new race comes the class of Monk. With the addition of these new options comes a rise in the level cap from level 85 to level 90. When players choose the Pandaren race they are not automatically shoved into a designation of Horde or Alliance, they are instead given 10 levels to fight through to make their final choice of faction. Classes available to Pandarens are: Monks, Mages, Hunters, Priests, Rogues, Warriors and Shamans.

The Monk class uses chi to strengthen basic abilities such as Jab and Roll. The Jab attack generates Light and Dark forces which is kinetic to more advanced attacks. There is no auto attack function for the Monks. Every class except Goblin and Worgen will be allowed to be a Monk. In raiding situations, the Monks will prove to be effective tanks, melee as well as healers.

SOPA/PIPA temporarily stopped! Thanks to teh webz

Written by Eric
First off I'd like to say grats for the IRL ding... We really acheived something here, and pissed off a lot of people in the process... So good troll everyone.  Now onto the real story...  Today, Friday Janurary 20th 2012, SOPA was dropped by congress in the direct wake of the and I quote "largest internet protest ever."  Over 13 million people raided online and filled out a petition to let congress know this crap ain't gonna fly.  Since old people don't know how to disable java, I'm pretty sure some of these congress people were like "yo.. I can't wiki myself today"  followed by a "Oh crap it's an election year"  all i'm sayin' is it's like a shoe store in DC, so many flip-flops!

Now, We aren't out of the woods yet...  Harry Reid according to Fox News stated "he will postpone an upcoming vote on his chamber's proposal. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, quickly followed suit, saying consideration of a similar House bill would be postponed "until there is wider agreement on a solution."  Or until 2013 when we are out of an election year right???

Yep!  I honestly don't feel we are out of the woods yet and this subject will be brought up after the election... REMEMBER kids, this isn't the first time they tried to censor the web.. Last time they shut down Napster (once)...

Here's the problem with our society (especially those on the internet) our collective memory is like 2 weeks.  We are going to forget about this, and that's when they will pass it... When we are sleeping, on the weekend, and it will go without a sound..  WE CANNOT LET UP on this...  I think that we need to make Janurary 18th a day of rememberance.  "The day the internet went dark, Janurary 18th 2012."

I've been reading a lot of articles on the day of victory... or things like "SOPA drops the SOAP" (not even funny).  Saying how it's been dropped, we won blah blah blah...  Nope, look at that article from Fox News, or anything else main stream (you know Companies that supported the bills).....  I know since Google is involved it would have to be a pretty big slip for them to miss this...

I really want to keep on this, and I suggest you all do too.  If we continue our effort we can succeed.  Also, make sure you let your local congress person and senator know how you feel about this...  They work for us remember that!

Anyways... I'm glad everyone is happy and I'm not saying we didn't win today....  The battle was won... But I'm certain this isn't the last we've seen of SOPA.

“MONSTER MAGNITUDE” THREATEN JAPAN IN MM9

Written by Eric
Special Team Of Scientists Must Save Japan In A Gripping New Novel From The Author Of THE STORIES OF IBIS

VIZ Media's Haikasoru imprint brings a fantastic new tale of science fiction and giant monsters to North American readers with the release of Hiroshi Yamamoto's novel MM9, available now. The release will carry an MSRP of $14.99 U.S. / $16.99 CAN. An eBook edition is also available on the Amazon Kindle, Apple's iBooks Store, the Barnes & Noble's Nook Books Store, and the Sony Reader™ Store for $8.99.

Haikasoru publishes some of the most compelling contemporary Japanese science fiction and fantasy stories for English-speaking audiences, and is the first imprint based in the U.S. dedicated to Japanese science fiction and fantasy in translation.

The Japan of MM9 is beset by natural disasters all the time: typhoons, earthquakes...and giant monster attacks. A special anti-monster unit called the Meteorological Agency Monsterological Measures Department (MMD) has been formed to deal with natural disasters of high "monster magnitude." The work is challenging, the public is hostile, and the monsters are hungry, but the MMD crew has science, teamwork...and a legendary secret weapon on their side. Together, will try and save Japan, and the universe!

"Hiroshi Yamamoto takes on the perennial Japanese science fiction theme—the giant monsters known as kaiju," says Nick Mamatas, Haikasoru Editor. "The B-movie monsters we know and love are basically treated like meteorological disasters along the lines of hurricanes or earthquakes by the MMD, who measures the "monster magnitude" of the various threats and uses both science and folkloric knowledge to try to save Japan from constant repeated attack. Yamamoto knows his science as well as pop culture—MM9 is both a loving parody of Japanese icons like Ultraman and Godzilla, but gives an intriguing and wild answer to the question of how such enormous creatures could exist without the laws of physics kicking it. The book was very popular in Japan, and the cinematic nature of Yamamoto's storytelling made it easy for Japanese television to adapt into an action-adventure- science fiction TV show."

Hiroshi Yamamoto was born in 1956 in Kyoto, Japan. He began his career as a writer and game designer with the game development company Group SNE in 1987. He gained initial popularity with titles such as February at the Edge of Time and the Ghost Hunter series. His first hardcover science fiction release, God Never Keeps Silent, became a sensation among readers and was nominated for the Japan SF Award. Other novels include Day of Judgment and The Unseen Sorrow of Winter and THE STORIES OF IBIS (which is published in North America by VIZ Media's Haikasoru). Aside from his work as a writer, Yamamoto is also active in various literary organizations as an editor of classic science fiction anthologies and as president of To-Gakkai, a group of tongue-in-cheek "experts" on the occult.

Tomorrow Janurary 18th, Wikipedia (English) will shut down for 24 hours to protest SOPA and PIPA  (stop online piracy act and the protect IP act.  Both are internet censorship.  Along with those big hitters sites like Wordpress and twitpic will be down.  Google facebook twitter and tumblr won't be doing anything... which in my opinion is stupid since they could tell everyone in the US whats going on in one day!

Wiki gets about 25 million visitors a day (this should stir up something)

However Google and Facebook are both against the internet censorship laws.

This is a letter endorsed by AOL, eBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo! and Zyngastated:

"Unfortunately, the bills as drafted would expose law-abiding U.S. Internet and technology companies to new uncertain liabilities, private rights of action, and technology mandates that would require monitoring of web sites. We are concerned that these measures pose a serious risk to our industry's continued track record of innovation and job-creation, as well as to our Nation's cybersecurity. We cannot support these bills as written and ask that you consider more targeted ways to combat foreign 'rogue' websites dedicated to copyright infringement and trademark counterfeiting, while preserving the innovation and dynamism that has made the Internet such an important driver of economic growth and job creation."
