Default Mawiage is what bwings us here togeva.... today...

Married? Gonna get married? This is the place for you!

This stems from an off topic discussion in another thread where we were all discussing how long we've been together, etc...

Marriage is cool. Despite popular belief, sex does not end after marriage. If there's a sexual rut it's usually because of life and not because you're married. It's a lot easier to cram sex into your schedule in college than it is working 40-60 hours a week and having to keep a house cleaned etc...

I had mentioned in the other thread that had we been able to afford it and not been in college my wife and I might have gotten married a lot quicker. What's funny is discussing it recently with her we came to the conclusion that had we waited much longer, we may have skipped marriage altogether. We'd just live together. Our views on marriage, religious beliefs, etc... have changed over the past couple of years and we don't think it's necessary to put on a ring to have a commitment.

But neither of us regrets it either.

Marriage = happy time.

Now I shall watch this discussion fizzle like I predicted it would

Mike and I are waiting to get married because we're just not in any kind of a rush. We both see it as we'll be together forever anyway, so we can take as long as we want to have our perfect wedding. :P
I'm definitely not a high maintenance girl, but I definitely am one of those girls who wants the perfect wedding. We both want all our family and close friends there, which means it will probably be a fairly large wedding. I want all the traditions, a beautiful cake, hired photographers (even though his neice takes really good photos) (she's 20, by the way lol), EVERYTHING.
So... we're waiting a bit. Mike's still looking for a good job, and we still need to move out of this house and get out on our own.

Marriage, I've found, can make you a little more adventurous as well. I used to be extremely conservative in my costuming, but since getting married, I've broadened into a little more revealing costumes (ie: Cammy, Felicia, and some other costumes in the works). I find it a lot more fun than when I was dating, feel comfortable with my husband -even when we're in silly moods-, and have someone to talk to and spill my mind to when needed.

Since becoming a father, I fell in love with him even more. The day our daughter was born, I saw him hold her just after delivery and was overwhelmed with so much love for him and our daughter (but also a degree jealous that he could hold her and I couldn't since I was being stitched up from the C-section). She helped strengthen our marriage and brought us a lot closer than I thought we were.

understand it. for us the wedding was mostly for family etc... we wanted to live together after college and we knew we'd run into familial issues if we did and weren't married so we got married! it was for us too, but we didn't care if it was perfect. it was small, low impact. the fun part was the honeymoon.

mel was diff though, she didn't want the traditions - she wouldn't allow them to play the wedding march. we did have a cake and photographer though.

i've been threatened with murder if i impregnate my wife but that is totally awesome! i used to really want kids but i reached an age where by the time they were out of the house I'd be nearly fifty and I just really feel like being selfish right now.

lolz one of my managers, Tavis, he wants kids, but his wife isn't thrilled about the idea of a parasite in her belly. I guess she did get pregnant, but it was growing in a tube or something, and it burst and she was sent to the hospital. SCARY O.O I guess it's not that uncommon either!

Mike and I definitely want kids. He's so great with kid's, he loves them. And I know he'll make a great dad some day. I told him that, and he started crying. :P

My husband was the same way (in thinking he probably wouldn't be a dad til 50 and wanting to be selfish -he still sees himself as a kid-), but then he ended up a dad at 34 (and I'm 23, almost 24). I wanted kids as early as possible though due to health issues (which have actually kicked in now.... I worry about what will happen when I attempt for child #2). If my hubby and I would have hooked up sooner, I wonder if we would have 2 kids by now...

Mike really wants at least one kid with his eyes. I told him, though... my brown eyes are dominant and there's a very slim chance they'll end up with his green-ish eyes. He was a little sad, but I told him if/when our children have children, there's a higher chance of them having green eyes if they marry someone with lighter eyes lol He said that was unacceptable though :P

There's a good chance the 2nd kid would have his eye color or a lighter color in general. In my family, my dad has silver blue eyes and my mom has light "honey brown" eyes. My sister ended up with jade green eyes and I got mom's light brown eyes.
