I believe this year belong to PS3. Especially considering the recent information in regards to most companies supporting Blu-ray, and speculation that Toshiba plans to kill off HD-DVD.

Aside from that, they've got some good games coming up. Alot of people wanna play Metal Gear Solid 4, and alot of them will buy PS3's to do so.

Current Playstation 3 savings: $17.48

I dont think they will...if you noticed...this month and next month are projected to be PS3's highest selling time ever and thats simply because of Tax Returns...

I think 360 will come out on top because they never cease to amaze us with the games they produce...even if we dont have MGS4 i guarantee that if (or when) sony decides to drop out of the console race, which i expect they will, where do you think all those PS3 exclusive games will go....damn sure not to the Wii...it cant handle it...so in the end 360 will rule the world...

ACtually HD-DVD is pretty much dead now.

The 360 has a slew of hardware problems and bricks pretty easily.
(Not just the red ring of death or disc scratching fun.)

The PS3 is just better designed I'd say.
I mean, if something can come out a year late in the game and still compete with barely anything, then I say be frightened when it finally catches up in steam.

Well, also if you don't include any of the foreign countries then that's just silly.
I believe Europe had an extremely sucessful PS3 launch and the 360 is not that popular in Japan.

I don't even have a next gen system.... /cry.



Oh and the Wii isn't even in the right catergory.

I, personally, don't feel Wii is in the right kind of competition with the Xbox 360 or the PS3. I think of the Wii as more of a casual gamers system.

As I mentioned, speculation in regards to Toshiba killing off the HD-DVD format seems to be true. It's been confirmed, and Toshiba is going to make a statement in regards to it offically, soon.

We've all known somebody who has had a Xbox 360 fail. And thats a sad statistic. How many people you know with failing PS3's?

I don't know ANY. I have a friend who is on his fifth Xbox 360. He makes sure that EVERYTIME he gets a replacement, he gets one with a new born date, so that his warrenty is still valid for a year. This is so he can get his replacement free.

The fact is, the Xbox 360 IS a poor design. The processor and GPU are UNDER the disc tray. Which is IDIOTIC, and makes it heat up faster. ALSO, they use cheap glue that heat melts away, and some sort of clamps to hold shit down (not even secured into the system, and can just fall apart!).

Don't get me wrong, I love the games I have on my Xbox 360. I just don't think the hardware can compare to ANY other system in history, because of how shitty it is.

My Playstation still works (the old boxy one, I got it in fucking 1996), my PS2 still works (Again, the old boxy one, I got that in 2001). I guess I can be considered a Sony fanboy, but thats because they havn't failed me. Neither has Nintendo. However, I am on my second Xbox 360. And that just pisses me off to no end.

Will I buy a PS3 with my Tax return?

Most likely, yes, but thats because I trust the quality of workmanship put into the system, and because I want to play exclusive games on the system.

I want to say wii. I reallyreally do. what an incredible system. But at the rate that they produce GOOD games... sadly after smash bros and a few other titles the system will not necessairily "decline" in popularity people will just see the magic wearing off.

Now the ps3 has a good thing going on for it. blue ray etc etc and stunning graphics. GTA will surely boost sales. Uncharted did amazingly well with the face-mapping technique they used on drake and it drew in quite a few customers for just that game alone.

But I have to go with the 360. So many online possabilities there as well and some seriously epic games. I mean look what mass effect and assassins creed did for the 360 (and yes i know a.c. came out for ps3 but with not as huge of a punch) i mean come on BIOSHOCK . If 360 keeps rolling with these stellar titles they will surely come out on top.

i'm on my way to go get a ps3. I have went thru 3 xbox consoles now and am sick of all the issues connecting to xbl and playing a game w/ my friends online. grrr... microsoft sux. getting my ps3 this week. YEAH!!!

I jus dont understand the problems that some people have with the 360...i never had one and mine was a first gen... Most of it i think comes from 1 of 3 things:

1) People dont know how to treat their shit right
2) They dont know what the hell they are doing
3) They Ginuenly have a problem which is not that often

You must've gotten one of the good ones. I have friends who treat their equipment very well, and they've gotten red rings before. It's not always the person.
