Default Magical Black Kids

LOST has one.

Heroes has one. (Well, he's not exactly special in that universe but he is smarter than most of the adults and was crucial to season 1's arc)

Eureka has one.

Are young black kids, specifically boys, with special powers a new trend? Is it America's equivalent to Japan's Magical Girls?

Yes.

We ALL have powers. When you get the mixed children factor in there, like Michah, the powers multiply tenfold. Therefore, my powers are uberpwntastic.
