Default Doctor Who & Spinoffs

For Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane Smith Adventures.

David Tennant rules. Tom Baker's still my fave, but Tennant could over take him with just a tad better writing in his series.

Like, if Steven Moffat takes over after RTD leaves.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE /plays the awesome theme song.

I used to watch the old ones as a kid at my uncles, on SciFi channel. Don't remember much of them, though. I started watching the new series after it premiered, I downloaded the episodes. Loved it, right away.

Christopher Eccleston was great, but I didn't really feel he fit the series too well. David Tennant is the best modern Doctor, I believe. With a bit better writing, he could be the most well liked Doctor of the last twenty years.

He's got a certain flair for the character. I'm glad to hear he's back for series four of the new series.

I've recorded some of Torchwood, but havn't started watching it, yet.

i agree. though i loved chris, i'm glad we have david now. torchwood is...different. it's more adult but w/ the same RTD deus ex machinas so you can't blame it on "being a kids show"

I still like it, but it gets a little frustrating at times because it wants SO BAD to be buffy/angel but falls just short.

again, still like it - and can't wait for series two, especially considering who's guest starring

Time Lords can travel through time and space. And on top of that they can regenerate 12 times when they die, so there can be at least 13 different Doctors. David Tennant is the 10th doctor.

Christopher Eccelston (Doctor 9) died saving rose (his companion) and the world from energies that should never escape the TARDIS and then regenerated into David Tennant.

It's like if James Bond had a in continuity reason for changing faces all the time.

SPEAKER, READ THIS:

Quote:
David Tennant is confirmed to star through to 2009. However, during the latter half of 2008, Tennant is committed to a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet. After the 2008 Christmas Special, three Bank Holiday specials have been commissioned to air throughout 2009. The programme will then return in 2010 with a fifth full series. Russell T Davies has suggested that the programme is expected to follow this pattern, of full series interspersed with occasional year-long breaks, for some time into the future.

The Doctor will have three companions in the fourth series: Catherine Tate will reprise her role as Donna Noble, who was first introduced in "The Runaway Bride", for all 13 episodes; Freema Agyeman (Martha) will return mid-season for five episodes, and Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes. Agyeman will also appear in three episodes of Torchwood.

In the Doctor Who Confidential episode for "The Sound of Drums", Davies stated that it had always been his intention to bring back classic icons of Doctor Who one step at a time: Daleks in series 1, Cybermen in series 2, and the Master in series 3. He has also stated that he is not finished and will continue reviving villains from the original series.
So, basicly, what this means is that the fourth series that airs next year is gonna be aweosme, but, we basicly get SHIT during 2009, because of Tennant's previous commitment. While it does seem like Series 4 is gonna be "the shit", having no season during '09 is going to be depressing, and I will probably go through many withdrawals because of it.

agreed but the good news is after 09 who gets a new show runner (please please please let it be moffat please let it be moffat) which i think is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD because Russel T. Davies has done GREAT reviving the series and a GREAT visionary for the show but his episodes SUCK lmao.
